The Hope Journey Community

Our Culture and Traditions

Hope Journey is a ‘counter-culture’ organization. Our values and norms of behaviour differ substantially from those of mainstream Christian youth organizations and groups. We operate remotely 100% online; since 2017, we have relied on the common grace the Lord has provided through the internet to do our operational work and this is very different from the average mainstream Christian youth organisational style.

We are very youthful but conservative in our beliefs, we put premium on our execution of projects based on scripture and biblical principles. It is very evident in the Hope diary for example. It’s more scriptural-based. And also our events outlook has a set of values opposed to or at variance with the prevailing social norm for youth groups which are mostly focused on what is hip and fun at the moment.

We have a culture of using iteration methodology to solve problems where the new version of any project we have is supposed to be an improvement on the previous.

Below you can find the original Hope Journey’s core values:

We believe that we’re on the face of the Earth to Disciple People for Christ not for any particular denomination.

We are going for it and we will set aggressive goals to the Glory of God; We are all on the adventure together.

We don’t settle for anything less than excellence in every team in Hope Journey, and we have the self-honesty to admit when we are wrong and the courage to change.

We build causes and projects that will be an example of Christ’s Love; We are here to make a positive difference in society, as well as push the Gospel of Christ to the people in far to reach communities.

Each person in this organization is important; each has the opportunity and the obligation to make a difference; We are all on this mission of winning souls for Christ through show of love together, win, or lose.

We are creative; but we will stay Biblical so we don’t go overboard.

We believe in saying NO to thousands of projects so that we can really focus on the few that are truly important and meaningful to the Great Commission.

We believe Salvation is by Grace Alone through Faith in Christ for God’s Glory according to scripture; We want to create an environment in which Volunteers and Beneficiaries rely totally on The Holy Spirit.

Hope Journey is non-denominational, it is not affiliated to any particular church and Hope  Journey believes in the sweet fellowship of inter-denominations.
